ReStore Manager

After our successful grand opening ceremony on October 15th, we regret we have some building safety issues that must be addressed before we can open for business.  We are working on these as quickly as possible, but as they include large outdoor water storage tanks, it is taking some time.  We will let everyone know when the store will be open as soon as we can.  We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Habitat for Humanity Orillia ReStore
Habitat for Humanity Orillia/Lake Country is extremely excited to announce the grand opening of our ReStore on October 15, 2011.  The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a non-profit retail home renovation and building centre.  ReStores accept donations of quality new and gently used building, home renovation, and home decor materials.  100% of the profits go toward Habitat for Humanity's homebuilding program.

The ceremony will begin at 1:00 PM, with a thanking of our volunteers, speeches from our guests, and a ribbon cutting to mark our formal opening.  Attending the ceremony will be MP Bruce Stanton and MPP Garfield Dunlop of Simcoe North, Rob Voisin of Habitat for Humanity Canada ReStore Services, as well as board members and committee members from Habitat for Humanity Orillia/Lake Country.

After the ceremony, the ReStore will be open to the public until 4:00 PM.  Subsequently, the ReStore will be open only on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, commencing on October 20th.

Come join us for free cake, generously donated by Mariposa Market and Patilero Bakery & Cafe.

Ontario Trillium Foundation
Habitat for Humanity Orillia/Lake Country was given $225,000 over three years to create and develop a ReStore that will help provide low-income residents with affordable appliances and building supplies.  The ReStore accepts donations of lightly used appliances and construction material from local individuals and businesses and then sells them at a discounted price.  The money from the Trillium Foundation will create the store and pay for a new full-time store manager. Carol Sharpe, president of Habitat for Humanity Orillia/Lake Country, said that in three years they hope to have the ReStore completely self-sufficient.  Proceeds from the store will go back into building new homes for low-income families.
